Frequently asked about interior renovation
Which room should be done first?
The sequence usually starts with the wet rooms, because that is where the pipework is, and once it is done the dusty stages in the other rooms are reduced. Painting is left to the end. If this order is broken you end up working in front of a freshly painted wall.
Floors or walls first?
Wall work finishes before flooring. Plaster and paint drop material onto the floor and newly laid boards get damaged at that stage. Leaving the floor to the end also reduces the amount of protection needed.
Can sockets and switches be moved?
They can. If the walls are being opened anyway this needs no extra breaking out, which makes it cheaper to do during the renovation. We plan new socket positions around how you use the room, because when the furniture layout changes the old sockets often end up behind cabinets.
Where does the furniture go during the work?
It is gathered into a room that is not being worked on and covered. In a full renovation an empty property speeds things up. We do not offer a removals service, but we plan the timing with you so that moving day and demolition day do not collide.
What is the most common mistake in an interior renovation?
Having the work done in the wrong order. Laying a floor after painting, or closing a wall before the electrical route is run, means doing the same job twice. The second most common is treating one item in isolation and postponing the rest.
Can we live at home while the renovation is happening?
For smaller jobs, such as painting one room or changing the flooring, usually yes. For larger renovations we recommend working room by room to reduce dust and noise.
Would you come out just for a painting job?
Yes, single-item jobs are within our scope too. We give the same level of care regardless of the size of the renovation.
What flooring options do you offer?
We help you choose between laminate, real hardwood, and ceramic/porcelain based on how the space is used and your budget.
Why choose a drywall ceiling?
It hides cables and plumbing, makes spot lighting easier to install, and gives a flat, smooth surface. It noticeably improves the look of old, uneven ceilings in particular.
